Chiddingly Cricket Club is an ECB/Sussex Focus Club and has a proven track record of producing quality players at all levels. We are proud to boast 9 qualified ECB coaches and 6 qualified ACU&S umpires.
Chiddingly can boast having one of the most picturesque grounds in the country. Located in the heart of East Sussex, between Lewes and Hailsham, the field is bounded on all sides by trees and hedges. The spire of Chiddingly church rises majestically to the north of the ground.
In 2008, Chiddingly will field two Saturday teams in the Sussex Cricket League and one Saturday team in the East Sussex Cricket League, one Sunday side and a Mid-week team. In 2007 the Cup side won the Oakshott Cup and had a good run in the East Hoathly Cup.
Chiddingly has a thriving Youth Section and will field sides at Under 9 / 10 / 11 / 12 / 13 / 14 / 15 and 18 age-groups in 2008. Friendly matches are also organised for the Under 8s and Under 16s. The Under 14s and Under 16s both won their leagues last year. Several of our younger members now play regularly on Saturdays and Sundays
Our series of winter indoor nets has now come to an end. We are hoping to start practising at the ground on Monday evenings with effect from 21st April (6pm - 7.30pm). For further details contact Richard

Chance to Shine is the Cricket Foundation’s scheme to bring competitive cricket to state schools. The scheme is addressing the decline in competitive school cricket and is the single biggest sports-development initiative ever undertaken in the UK. Chance to Shine will reach one third of all schools in England and Wales over ten years and engage two million young people. Chiddingly Cricket Club is pleased to be involved with the project. We currently have four coaches working in six local schools. For more information click here.
